Last week the whole school dressed up for book character day. Book character day is were you dress up as a character from a book. Violet, Indigo, Carys and I all dressed up as fairies from the Rainbow Magic book. I enjoyed doing this activity because we got to dress up and have fun. Do you do Book character day?

Today our school was given our Duffy books that we chose. First we went into the hall and some kids got a photo with a book and then we sang the Duffy song. Thank you so much Duffy everyone is so grateful. If i cant find a book I get one for family. Here is a photo of some books.
This week for RE we had to make a google drawing of some things we are grateful for.

Today a guy called Bob Bickerton came in to tell us and play us some Māori instruments. There were probably twenty instruments. One of the instruments that I liked was called koauau Maire which is a wooden flute. My favourite part was when he played the instruments. The designs on the instruments were amazing. We are lucky and thankful that he came in.
We are learning about the schools Whakapapa. Today we had to make a plan about feast day. For my one I added sausage sizzle and free time.

Today the year sixes and sevens got to go on a bus and went to the town hall. The people on stage came to talk about books. There were six other people on stage Taylor Britt was one of them. Taylor Britt plays for the Canterbury Rams. There were lots of other schools there. A few people from other schools got to go up on stage. The people that went on stage got to play some Pictonary and the guy introducing everything made up a dance. There was also a mascot who was dressed up as Duffy. At the end we got a warehouse bag with goodeys in it. It was all very fun! We are so lucky we got to have the opportunity to go.
For a couple of weeks we have been focusing around the Olympics. We had to do a poster about Lisa Carrington.
